Quynh Le Yen, portfolio manager of Vietnam Equity UCITS Fund “VEF”, was ranked 19th out of 345 female managers for performance in the latest CityWire Alpha Female Report 2017. She ranked 211th, being in the top decile across the entire CityWire universe of 3,666 rated fund managers. VEF is also amongst the top 10 funds available to UK investors.
Launched in September 2013 as the first “Vietnamese Equity UCITS Fund”, VEF aims to outperform the FTSE VNI index while being UCITS V-compliant. In June 2017, VEF gained 6.2% vs 2.0% for its benchmark FTSE Vietnam index. The fund derives alpha primarily through a bottom-up stock-picking approach and aims to hold companies that adhere to their core business, generate healthy cash flow, provide high levels of governance, whilst complying with internal ESG standards.
