On December 15th, 2023, there are more than 350 participants from listed companies, securities, regulators, and media gathered at Cam Ranh for “2023 Annual Public Companies Forum & Vietnam Listed Company Awards (VLCA)”.
Dragon Capital was proudly co-hosted the event with the Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi stock exchanges, along with the Vietnam Investment Review. This 16th edition of the awards highlighted the resilience of businesses in overcoming unprecedented challenges. Notably, the winning companies across all three capitalization groups demonstrated significant improvements in their annual reports compared to the previous year.
Continuing the tradition of previous editions, the Vietnam Listed Company Awards 2023 maintained recognition for outstanding achievements in Annual Report, Sustainable Development Report, and Corporate Governance. These accolades were assessed using standardized, transparent, professional, and innovative criteria.
The awards benefitted from technical support provided by esteemed partners, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) from the U.K., the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD), and leading auditing firms such as Deloitte, E&Y, KPMG, and PwC.
During the event, Mr. Dominic Scriven OBE, Chairman of Dragon Capital, emphasized, “The corporate response to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards, particularly in Vietnam, indicates a growing commitment. Vietnam aligns with other Asian nations in embracing government-led initiatives aimed at combating climate change, such as emission reduction and carbon credit initiatives.”
“Despite these efforts, Vietnamese companies have not fully experienced the impacts of these changes due to the absence of comparable economic, legal, or trade pressures and insufficient financial incentives for adopting sustainable practices. However, at Dragon Capital, there’s an increasing demand from both local and international clients for strict adherence to ESG principles within our investment strategies.”
